WWE NXT TakeOver London: 18 Things You Might Have Missed

The signs, the chants, and the hilarious costumes. Oh, and the wrestling too.

How strange is it that, on a show in which Bayley, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, and Asuka turned in great performances, the most memorable thing about it was the crowd? So raucous were those in attendance for NXT TakeOver: London, it's likely that in a few years' time, very little of the actual card is remembered - at least when compared to the atmosphere it took place in. Like a mini version of the Raw after WrestleMania, TakeOver London was packed full of easily-missible, highly-entertaining moments from top to bottom. From Triple H's surprise opening promo to the enthralling main event, so much about the show rewarded those with a keen eye - and perhaps a slightly off-kilter sense of humour. However, don't worry if you missed out. Here's a collection of some of the most interesting, humorous, and downright weird Easter eggs from a pulse-pounding night of NXT action.

18. Triple H Admits It's Not The Last Time He'll Get His Ass Kicked

The show opened with Triple H in the middle of the ring, and the Game received a fittingly thunderous reception from the London crowd, given all he's done for NXT. Having been brought up in the internet age, I'm naturally a hyper-critical toerag, and was scrambling for my keyboard to type something along the lines of "But he was injured at the end of TLC! #RIPContinuity #KayfabeIsDead #IHateWrestling". Thankfully, Triple H knows his audience, and immediately quelled any discontent by referencing Roman Reigns' attack. His choice of words, however, was a little strange. Hunter claimed "It wasn't the first time I've had my ass kicked, and it sure as hell won't be the last", which seems an odd thing for such an overtly masculine and proud character to say.
