ODB Interview: Returning To IMPACT, Knockouts Division, Food Truck, AEW, More

Had you been keeping up with what Deonna Purrazzo and the rest of the Knockouts had been doing prior to your return?

I have and all of those girls are representing the Knockouts great. We put the Knockouts on the map back in '07 and we want to make sure the Knockouts division was also different with different characters. Every girl on the roster right now is so different and so unique. I'm loving it. With Deonna, she's a great champ, but I've been a four-time Knocked-Up champ, so she better not take me lightly because I'll take the BAM to her.

How have you seen the Knockouts division evolve from what it was when you started 12, 13 years ago to what is today?

You say 12 years and I feel old [laughs]. Thank God for social media. You see memories popping up, you see us all and they all say the Evolution started with the other company. It's like, "Bullsh*t, we started that." It's cool to see all of us now and all of the Knockouts I came up with, we're all in different stages of our lives. It's cool to see Awesome Kong doing a phenomenal job with G.L.O.W. and a lot of people are having kids, got married and that's great to see all the girls do that. It's exciting to go back and be with a different era.

Is it weird wrestling without a crowd given your character feeds off the audience?

Well, I'm talking to myself when I'm out there and I talk a lot so I'm surprised my matches aren't censored like one long beep [laughs]. But honestly, I thought it was going to be a little different, and obviously it's different, but it's actually not bad. I still have the same energy and now I work even harder for the people at home that are watching. So, it makes me step up my game a little bit when there's no crowd, but it is a little odd when you're like, "No one's chanting for me? What's going on?"
