One MIND-BLOWING Secret For Every WWE SummerSlam

7. 2019 | Who Wanted To Pick A Fight With Aleister Black?

Aleister Black
WWE

Aleister Black loves WWE more than Vladimir Kozlov, Vladimir Abouzeide, and Michael Hamflett. If the social media scuttlebutt is to be believed, Ally spent his entire AEW run waiting for Triple H to ring him up and book him in a nine-month programme against Damian Priest that nobody gave a toss about.

And yet, in 2019, the Aleister Black character didn’t seem to grasp how WWE worked. He stuck himself in a darkened room, with only his head visible, and asked various members of the roster if they wanted to “pick a fight” with him. Silly Aleister. If you want a match in WWE, you simply interrupt somebody’s promo!

According to the August 9, 2019 issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sami Zayn was going to pick a provisional fight with Aleister at SummerSlam.

Usually, when you fantasy book a pro wrestling match between two very talented performers, you tend to be optimistic. You think of their respective movesets and dream up the coolest counters. You might even go as far as simulating the warfare on WWE 2K, knowing that it’s not the same, but you’re so jazzed over the prospect that it will have to do.

In WWE in 2019, even a daydream was impossible. You can almost see the short, poorly promoted and likely impromptu match unfold at 0.25 speed as thousands of eerily silent fans create a mere hum for the duration.

You don’t need to imagine it; this exact scenario played out on the preceding SmackDown in a nothing match that nobody remembers.
