One Of The Best Wrestlers In The World Is Coming To AEW
AEW's embarrassment of riches is about to get even grander - albeit temporarily.
The All Elite Wrestling roster is about to get boosted by the arrival of Konosuke Takeshita, who announced this weekend that he is returning to the United States for an excursion with the Tony Khan-helmed promotion.
Speaking at DDT's Day Dream Believer 2022 event in Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, the former KO-D Openweight Champion stated that he would be leaving for the US (and AEW) after 10 April, calling for fans to support him on this latest tour:-
Take: After 4.10, I'll be going to America for a tour. Of course, it'll be at #AEW . I won't be going just to wrestle, it'll be a challenge for Konosuke Takeshita against the world. Until 4.10 please give me your support here.#ddtpro pic.twitter.com/NnuJcdCjDh

This will be the second time Takeshita has embarked on an AEW excursion. A brief April 2021 stop-off saw him work three matches for the group, including two Dark: Elevation bouts and a multi-man tag alongside The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega at the untelevised The House Always Wins event, though he returned to DDT and Japan without making it to Dynamite or pay-per-view.
There is currently no word on how long, exactly, Takeshita will be in AEW for.
Regarded as one of the most complete professional wrestlers on earth, Takeshita, 26, will arrive in AEW fresh off losing the KO-D Openweight Championship (DDT's top title) to long-term rival Tetsuya Endo on 20 March's Judgement - 25th Anniversary show. February saw Takeshita openly express a desire to come back to the company someday, and now, with AEW recently announcing a formal working relationship with DDT, it will become a reality.
AEW is yet to formally announce any matches or appearances for the incoming star.
