Owen - Hart Of Gold DVD Review: 14 Things You Should Know

10. The Tag Team Ranks

Owen returned to the WWF in 1991 with his brother-in-law Jim Neidhart to form The New Foundation. The Anvil laughed as he remembered how great Owen was in the ring compared to him, claiming €œI had like three moves, he had hundreds€. The pair are mostly remembered for dressing like a poor man's MC Hammer, but Bret remembers Owen really enjoying his time working with Jim.

After Neidhart got himself fired, Owen was paired with Koko B. Ware. Koko is interviewed for the piece and says he loved working with Owen. Chris Jericho doesn€™t remember High Energy as fondly, remarking that €œIt was a waste of Owen€™s talents€. He had a point.

It is apparent at this point in the documentary that Bret Hart is really the central authority figure when it comes to telling Owen's story. His interview is illuminating. Since he was around Owen the whole time, he can tell stories and share how Owen was feeling in ways that nobody else can really offer.

Bret talks about Owen not enjoying being a member of High Energy and suggesting to Hart that he might try to leave and become a fireman and get out of wrestling all together.
