Predicting AEW's Next 10 Breakout Stars

8. Will Hobbs

AEW has a pretty tremendous hoss division. Brodie Lee, Lance Archer, Miro and Brian Cage are all established names, with Wardlow almost guaranteed to join them in the not too distant future. Big Will Hobbs might just end up being the biggest star of them all.

Hobbs might be new on the scene in AEW, but this guy has been wrestling for more than a decade at this point. There haven't been a huge number of matches in that time but Hobbs has been gaining momentum in recent months, embarking on a Dark winning streak that has coincided with more prominence on Dynamite. The future is bright for Hobbs.

Since putting in a hugely impressive performance at the AEW All Out Casino Battle Royale, Hobbs has been simmering nicely. COVID-19 got in the way of a major match alongside AEW Champion Jon Moxley and new TNT Champion Darby Allin, but this isn't a company that abandons its ideas entirely.

For the foreseeable future, Hobbs will continue to pick up wins on Dark until he is oven-ready, but he can't wait forever. Will Hobbs could well be a major player by the time Dynamite celebrates its second anniversary.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
