Predicting How And When Every Injured WWE Star Will Return
6. Jinder Mahal
What a difference two years can make.
Going into 2018, Jinder Mahal was fresh off a lengthy run as WWE champion and was a few months away from winning the United States Championship at WrestleMania 34 (albeit for a measly eight-day reign). That was the peak of his push in the company, as he's since settled for an undercard role in the 24/7 Championship picture.
The last we saw The Modern Day Maharaja, he was trading the title back and forth with R-Truth on a golf course, on a plane and other obscure locations. He suffered a knee injury soon after and told Chris Featherstone of FanBuzz in October that he wouldn't be back until the new year at the earliest.
Well, 2020 is here, so a Royal Rumble return may not be out of the question depending on what the severity of the injury was. Of course, what WWE does with him from there is a whole other question. It's not exactly like fans have been clamoring to see him back in the squared circle.
In all honesty, competing for the 24/7 Championship might be the best possible place for him at the moment. He's back on Raw thanks to the 2019 WWE Draft, but with the red brand already stockpiled with talent, there isn't much for him to do than to serve as an enhancement talent for the likes of Aleister Black, Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre.
