Predicting The Future Of 10 NXT Stars

6. No Way Jose

Even though No Way Jose isn’t the best act in NXT, you can imagine he’s probably one of Vince’s favorites (if he ever actually watches the show). The boss absolutely LOVES wrestlers who “love to have fun”, and smile and dance their way to the ring. To be fair to Jose, he’s pretty good in the role, and seems to genuinely enjoy his character far more than someone like Brodus Clay ever did.

What Jose also has working in his favor is that he’s deceptively big. At 6 ft 3 in, he’s a pretty tall guy, which may make the boss want to protect him as a competitor. Still, he has a long ways to go in the ring if he's going to become an actual star.

Jose may not make it onto the main roster in 2017, but it’s hard to rule out. He could emerge as a Enzo/Cass type act on SmackDown shortly after WrestleMania, and be used to liven up the crowd. Since he has a distinct personality, he’ll likely fare better than Kalisto and Crews, but won’t be protected in the same way as a Big Cass.

While I may be overreaching here, he seems most likely to land in Sami Zayn-territory. Basically he’ll come out, get a pop from the crowd, put up a good fight but almost always come out on the losing end to someone management is more invested in. However, he doesn't seem to posses Zayn's upside of someday being a main event talent. It’s not a bad role for Jose to be in, but as we've also seen, Vince does get tired of his dancing/having fun acts fast...except for R-Truth.

Official prediction: Jose debuts around WrestleMania 34, and enjoys a midcard run for a few years; never making the main event scene.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
