…putting the title on truly homegrown talent. You can lump Wardlow under this banner too, but Jungle Boy feels like a wrestler who has benefited even more from the guidance of AEW’s experienced roster, like Christian, great opponents, and patient booking.
Jack Perry might just be the most natural babyface in wrestling today. He works with a great sense of fun and freedom and can pull out some flashy moves, but his fundamentals are incredibly solid and he’s no boring do-gooder. Indeed, we’ve seen Jungle Boy increase his grit along with his stature over the past months as he progresses.
Most AEW fans are expecting a Christian Cage heel turn any day now, which could be the impetus for Jungle Boy to pursue a solo career. He’s not ready for the big belt just yet, but time is very much on his side.
Johnny Gargano - especially heel Gargano - would be the perfect opponent for JB’s coronation. Gargano can get a great match out of anyone and the two share a similar style. He could be the key to turning Jungle Boy into a Jungle Man.
