7. Carmella

The third straight SmackDown Live superstar on this list, Carmella was considered by some to be the dark horse going into the SmackDown Women's Championship match at WrestleMania 33. The Princess of Staten Island came up short on April 2, but her improvement is clear for all to see.

When Carmella was separated from Enzo & Big Cass, many fans feared the worst. Up until that point her act had relied on theirs. It was difficult to view a future for Carmella that didn't involve the Realest Guys in the Room. The outlook was somewhat bleak.

Carmella has taken the pessimism and turned it right on its head. Not only has she solidified herself as an important heel in the SmackDown Women's division, she has also achieved the somewhat impossible and lengthened James Ellsworth's shelf life in WWE.

It might not happen in the next six months, but Carmella is for sure a future WWE Women's Champion.

He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
