Predicting The Next 10 First-Time Champions In WWE

8. Tye Dillinger

Tye Dillinger may have been in WWE developmental for an extremely long time, but The Perfect 10 is just a handful of victories away from having more singles wins on SmackDown Live than on NXT. That is a clear indicator of the direction of Dillinger's WWE career, a longtime jobber who fell into a gimmick that the crowd subsequently fell in love with.

After long being an afterthought on NXT, Dillinger has arrived on SmackDown Live with no small amount of momentum. Wins over Curt Hawkins and Aiden English may not exactly represent a statement of intent, but the crowd support for Dillinger is difficult to ignore. Could a secondary championship be in his future?

Many fans may well have fantasy booked a situation in which Tye Dillinger wins his first championship in a Last Man Standing match. His opponent dropped, Dillinger and the crowd would frantically be screaming '10' with every single count up to that fabled number. Like Dillinger entering the Royal Rumble at number 10, it might be too perfect an opportunity to give up.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
