Predicting The Next 10 WWE Champions

2. Kevin Owens (Money In The Bank 2019)

Though currently tasked with rebuilding the United States Title’s reputation (which he’s doing a fine job of thus far), Kevin Owens will likely drift in and out of the WWE Championship picture over the next few years. His Universal Title reign was horrendous, but that was entirely down to the way he was presented. If he were to re-enter the main event scene tomorrow, few would complain.

MITB 2019 is a long time to wait, but WWE don’t have to rush Owens back into the spotlight. He’s still only 33 years old, and given his skill on the microphone and in the ring, it’s hard to see his popularity waning over the next two years. The company can afford to wait with him, and after multiple title reigns between now and June 2019, he’ll be more than ready to carry the blue brand.

Orton and Owens have wrestled once before, but it was a nondescript Raw match back in July 2015. If WWE can keep them apart for another two years, this would be a fresh pay-per-view main event that may not live up to the athletic standards of Styles and Nakamura’s reigns, but would still generate a lot of interest.
