Predicting The Next 10 WWE Hall Of Fame Headliners
4. Brothers Of Destruction (2029)
Told you it would be a recurring theme...
As with Evolution, here’s another group lesser than the sum of its parts. The Undertaker is a legend, Kane is a (minor) legend, but the Brothers of Destruction is no legendary tag team. Yet, for all the reasons given above, expect the company to label them as (read in Michael Cole’s voice) “one of the most devasting tag teams in the history of the WWE” and the production team to assemble another masterful video promo that makes you wonder whether they actually were. (Case in point.)
In reality, the tandem barely wrestled a ****+ match in their career, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a meaningful rivalry they’ve had with any other team. That their Greatest Matches DVD includes a bout against Chuck Palumbo and Sean O’Haire tells you all you need to know. But 'Taker and Kane have real presence and charisma standing next to each other, and listening to the two share details on working as kayfabe brothers or taking us behind the scenes of one of WWE’s most celebrated debuts (Kane’s at Bad Blood 1997) would undoubtedly be worth it.
