Predicting The Next 10 WWE Hall Of Fame Headliners
5. Rey Mysterio (2028)
Rey Mysterio is probably going to be the third Ruthless Aggression Era star to be enshrined into WWE's Hall of Fame, but the roots of his fame go way deeper. Indeed, he may be a WWE legend, but he is an AAA, WCW and ECW legend in the same right. Influential trailblazer, international icon, definitely a contender for the title of Cruiserweight GOAT, it is not a dishonoring choice to follow Sami Zayn in seeing him as the GOAT, period.
Mysterio stated that his original plan was to retire at 50 years of age - as in three years' time - but that he may keep going if his body allows it. Considering the fabulous shape Rey is in, he would certainly look as decent in a ring as any wrestler in their 50s ever looked. If he spoils us with a couple more years, circa 2028 is a credible time for his HOF induction.
The good thing is that Mysterio doesn't look interested in part-timing, which means he could break with the tradition set by his legendary peers and have his last match be watchable. WWE should let him wrestle full-time until the moment comes for said farewell bout, ideally taking place at WrestleMania. He could then go out under the thunderous standing ovation he deserves.
