Predicting The Quality Of All 13 WWE WrestleMania 39 Matches

9. Trish Stratus, Lita & Becky Lynch Vs. Damage CTRL

Cody Rhodes Roman Reigns five stars

This should - should - over-deliver.

But that's only because the build has been such a flat, heat-less programme. It's all so typical of Triple H's stint as a booker; the story beats are generally in the correct order, but the promos are just brutally generic. A single story premise has been established, and both acts just repeated it ad nauseam while taking it turns to "stand tall" following nothing brawls that seem to evaporate as soon as they've happened.

A huge gathering of hardcore WWE lifers however will pop when the match is presented in front of them. Even if the action isn't stellar - and Lita in particular isn't the performer of old - her signature arsenal will bring down the house whether it is executed well or not. Bayley seems utterly drained of confidence, even passion, but can still go under the bright lights. Her series with Bianca Belair was underrated on the Premium Live Event stage, and if her inner child is still a huge WWE fan, she will relish the opportunity to bump and feed for Trish Stratus.

Becky Lynch has faded to an extent that goes under-mentioned - bad faith actors have grasped that there's more Twitter engagement in criticising Wardlow's decline - but she too will prove her worth when a hack writer is not in her vicinity.

This will be fun, loud and little more - provided Triple H doesn't format it to go too long.

That's always a risk-uh.

Predicted Star Rating: ★★★
