Predicting Where Every Released WWE Wrestler Will End Up
4. Kalisto
Prediction: A revived Lucha Underground
Kalisto's WWE career had three arcs within it; The Lucha Dragons, his pursuit of both the United States and Cruiserweight Championships, and The Lucha House Party.
He was a fine United States, Cruiserweight, and NXT Tag Team Champion with the former Sin Cara, and his matches in WWE weren't always terrible. It's his booking that held him back, as is the case with many, many current and former WWE superstars.
The artist formerly known as Samuray del Sol will no doubt do incredible things outside of WWE because he's a solid high-flyer. His early days in NXT were peak NXT for that time period; he was flipping around the ring with ease.
An MLW run could be ideal for Kalisto going forward, while the same could be said for his addition to IMPACT Wrestling's already-packed X Division. For this list, though, he's being thrown left-field with a debut as part of a revived Lucha Underground.
The plans to bring back the once-popular El Rey Network show have been speculated upon for the last few months, with Lucha Libre FMV applying for trademarks relating to LU. While the majority of the former company's core roster are now signed down elsewhere, the likes of a Kalisto on the roster would help get the company running again.
