Semifinal Round Match: Dean Ambrose Defeats Alberto Del Rio Via Disqualification
With Reigns getting a bye, there'll only be one semifinal match, and the winner will be "The Big Dog's" opponent. A cocky Alberto Del Rio will be expecting to capitalize on his recent success by becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion, but Dean Ambrose will not be prepared to let that happen - he'll run wild on Alberto, surprising the United States Champion and knocking him out of the ring for a powwow with Zeb Colter. Alberto will finally manage to slow things down and subdue Ambrose, working him over with kicks and holds. Ambrose will fight back, though, and manage to surprise Reigns, even reversing an attempt at the Cross Armbreaker into a cradle for a close near-fall. Frustrated, Alberto will start to bend the rules, pulling Ambrose's hair and refusing to leave him alone when he gets to the ropes. The referee will reprimand Alberto, but he'll be in the zone. He'll try for the Cross Armbreaker once more, and this time, he'll get it - but when Dean Ambrose gets to the rope, Alberto won't break the hold. Eventually, the referee will be forced to call for the disqualification, and Ambrose will win - but not before Alberto decks the referee and kicks the former Shield member in the head.
