Rampage Review: 6 Ups & 5 Downs
3. The Totally Insane Third Act
Rampage may make you wait about an hour for the bulk of the action to kick off, but when it does, hoo boy, is it worth the wait.
The final 30-35 minutes of the movie consists of virtually wall-to-wall action as the three monsters finally collide in an epic, hilariously over-the-top battle for supremacy.
The enticing visual effects, the constant attempt to one-up the ridiculousness of what came before and the sheer prolonged payoff of it all combines to ensure the popcorn-munching crowd will more than get their fill of what they paid to see.
It's a shame the carnage wasn't doled out more evenly throughout the film, but at least it didn't skimp on the mayhem when it really mattered.
