Randy Savage's 9 WrestleMania Appearances - Ranked From Worst To Best

9. WrestleMania IX: The Commentator?!

When you've been a WWE fan for any length of time, you quickly become accustomed to the baffling booking decisions and head scratching disappointments which occur alarmingly often. A good example of this would be in 1993 when WWE took one of their most beloved main event superstars, still in his physical prime and hugely over with the audience, and made him a mere commentator for WrestleMania IX. When you consider that this same performer had won the WWE World Championship in the main event of the previous year's 'Mania, the decision made even less sense. To Savage's credit, he made the best of what he was given, and his entrance into WrestleMania IX's "Roman Coliseum" should be on any self-respecting fan's 'Top WrestleMania Entrances' list. Wearing his own "Macho" version of a Roman toga, Savage was carried to the ring on a cushioned sedan, hoisted by four gladiators. If that wasn't enough, Savage was also accompanied by a group of 'Vestal Virgins', each feeding him grapes and throwing rose petals in his path. Like a boss. Throughout the night, Savage delivered some great lines on commentary and even got one of the loudest pops of the night when he finally lost his temper with Bobby Heenan and stood up to knock him out. Even when dumped behind a commentary table, The Macho Man proved he could still steal the show any time he wanted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBM6VVlCeYw
