Randy Savage's 9 WrestleMania Appearances - Ranked From Worst To Best
5. WrestleMania V: Savage Vs. Hulk Hogan (WWF Championship)
Beginning with WrestleMania IV in 1988, WWE would host two back to back WrestleManias in the same venue: Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. It made for a unique contrast, watching Randy Savage leave the arena in 1988 to joyous applause as the newly crowned WWE World Champion, only to enter the same building one year later for WrestleMania V to thundering boos. Walking out in front of the WrestleMania V live audience, Randy Savage was well and truly at the pinnacle of his heel run in the WWE, morphing himself from a heroic babyface and tag team partner of Hulk Hogan into a vicious heel who'd been consumed by a paranoid rage over Hogan's friendship with Miss Elizabeth. The match was a decent enough back-and-forth encounter, fairly typical of the Hogan matches of the 80's, and like all of The Hulkster's villainous opponents in the 1980s, it was Savage's duty to take the three punches, the big boot and the leg drop before succumbing to the 1-2-3. To some degree, the loss was damaging to Savage as a main event heel, as he would never again be a serious contender for the WWF Championship until his babyface turn several years later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrlSz-Xxo50
