Ranking 15 WWE Debuts And Returns In 2020
6. Edge
No return or debut in 2020 could top the one that came at the
#21 spot of the Royal Rumble, when Edge made his improbable return to WWE.
The Rated-R Superstar’s return to WWE was cut short by injury, but it was nothing short of triumphant. Edge left WWE nine years earlier, forced into early retirement as World Champion. There had been rumors for a while that he would make a comeback, but it never came to fruition. Then came the Rumble.
The roof came off the place, and Edge was instantly one of the most talked-about wrestlers coming out of the PPV. His angle with Randy Orton only drew more attention to the comeback, which got a bit derailed by the pandemic. Still, Edge won at WrestleMania and then had a really solid match against Orton in what was unfortunately dubbed “the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever.”
Edge not only lost that match, but he got injured during it, ending this 2020 before it really got off the ground. Still, his remarkable comeback and high-profile angles during his brief time back is enough to warrant good placement on this list.
