Ranking 15 WWE Debuts And Returns In 2020
7. MVP
Now we start getting into the guys and gals who made a
difference by joining the main roster in 2020, and it starts with perhaps the
most surprising entrant of them all.
MVP showed up as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, quickly getting tossed by Brock Lesnar, but he provided a nice pop for the fans making his first in-ring appearance in WWE in nearly a decade. The then-46-year-old had what was termed a farewell match against Rey Mysterio on Raw, and that was thought to be that.
But then MVP resurfaced hosting the VIP Lounge, apparently hired as a producer and on-air talent. And then the pandemic hit, and MVP took on an even bigger role, becoming an in-ring performer again before finding his stride and shoring up the Hurt Business with Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.
2020 turned out to be a pretty good year overall for MVP, who went from afterthought on a farewell tour to a central part of Raw. Not too shabby.
