Ranking 15 WWE Debuts And Returns In 2020
4. Keith Lee
This is a really tough one to rank.
In one sense, Keith Lee’s debut on the main roster was an abject failure by WWE to capitalize on a pure can’t-miss superstar, a guy oozing charisma with a unique look, incredible skills in the ring, and equally talented on the mic. His call-up should have led to a massive push to the top of the card in a major featured role.
And Lee did come in and make a splash, interrupting Randy Orton and beating him in his first PPV match one week later. But a series of confusing decisions saw him lose to Orton, Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman, then be part of an awful storyline for Survivor Series with Team Raw that did no one any favors. It also didn’t help that he debut was talked about for his confusing ring gear and entrance music changes as it was for beating Orton.
The Limitless One closed out the year earning a WWE Championship match, but it feels like four months of treading water in the upper mid-card dulled any luster and shine Lee had from the get-go.
