Ranking 15 WWE Debuts And Returns In 2020

9. Omos

Now here’s an interesting character to rank on the chart.

On the one hand, Omos hasn’t really done much of anything since showing up on Raw. He randomly turned up as Shane McMahon’s bouncer for Raw Underground, seemingly existing only to fist bump Shane-O-Mac and make him look hip. After WWE’s fight club folded up tent, Omos showed up randomly accompanying AJ Styles to the ring.

The appearance initially was confusing and frankly, dumb, but Styles managed to make it work by sheer force of will. There have been some funny moments, such as Omos and Riddle sharing inside jokes, and little gags like the big guy listening to Mozart during Raw and being distracted by Elias.

WWE has rightly cast him as a big, imposing bodyguard who doesn’t have to do much else than look intimidating. Whether he can do anything more is immaterial at this point. The gimmick is working overall, and having things like John Morrison break a steel chair over his back to no effect, or AJ being physically pulled to safety have only bolstered that persona.

It will be interesting to see what happens if and when they finally set Omos loose in the ring, but for now, this role suits him just fine. However, with no matches under his belt, we can’t rank him any higher on this list at this time.
