10. SummerSlam (August 23): A High-Profile Case Of Incompetence

Main Event: The Undertaker versus Brock Lesnar What Happened: Brock Lesnar had The Undertaker in a precarious position in this WrestleMania rematch, locking the Phenom in his dreaded kimura - and sure enough, Undertaker had to tap out. However, Charles Robinson didn't see it, so when the timekeeper rang the bell, the referee ordered the match to continue. Undertaker took advantage of the confusion to hit Lesnar with a low blow, then locked him in the Hell's Gate. Lesnar wouldn't tap out, but he lost consciousness, giving Undertaker the victory. After the bout, video evidence showed that Undertaker had tapped, so Paul Heyman declared Brock Lesnar the true winner. Why It Sucked: After failing to deliver a decisive win in the top match of the most important show of the year, WWE pulled the same trick in their second-most-esteemed event - only this time, there was no clever swerve to get people talking, just a selfish attempt at protecting both men. The Undertaker became the first man to score a victory over Brock Lesnar in two and a half years, but in a more realistic sense, nobody won and the entire match felt like a swindle.
