Ranking 6 Best John Cena Matches At WWE Extreme Rules
5. Cage Match vs. Bray Wyatt (2014)
John Cena and Bray Wyatt would face off in a series of three Pay-Per-View matches in early 2014 while Bray was seemingly at the beginning of a meteoric rise in his young career.
The two met up for their first encounter at the previous Pay-Per-View, WrestleMania 30, and Cena would go over. It seemed odd for Wyatt to lose on such a huge platform because a win over Cena, even a tainted one, could have solidified him as a main eventer.
Wyatt would face off against Cena for their second big match in a steel cage. The Extreme Rules match seemed to favor the cult leader as his two followers Luke Harper and Erick Rowan would prevent Cena from winning on multiple occasions.
The crowd was loud as these two strong personalities beckoned a huge reaction. Cena appeared to have the Wyatt family single-handedly defeated as he made his way out of the cage. Then the arena would go black for a small boy to be singing "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands" with a creepy distortion on his voice. Wyatt attacked Cena from behind and walked out of the cage for the win.
This would be the most definitive victory that Wyatt would receive during his Cena rivalry, stalling his momentum and soured an otherwise good match.
