6. No Way Out 2009

This is known as the show that turned Wrestlemania completely upside down. Edge started the night as WWE Champion and ended it as World Heavyweight Champion. Go figure. It was really the night that the brand extension started to blur together. It€™s tough to look at this show on its own and ignore the logic gaps regarding the build to the Triple H/Randy Orton match at Wrestlemania. Orton won the Royal Rumble because he wanted to face Triple H€who at the time was not WWE Champion. He then said that he had Intermittent Explosive Disorder in order to avoid getting fired, but then said that he lied. So he€didn€™t get fired anyway? Still, putting all that aside, the ending of the WWE Championship Chamber with Triple H and Undertaker was a clinic in storytelling by two of the best to ever do it. The shock of Edge (the WWE Champion) losing three minutes into the match also added to the quality. On the Raw side, World Heavyweight Champion John Cena didn€™t even last until the end either. It was a very strange show as part of a very strange build to Wrestlemania, but on its own, the quality of the show holds up.
