The final July installment of Money in the Bank was pretty good, as any event with two multi-man ladder matches would be, but out of all of the installments, it ranks up as the worst. The WWE Championship match was John Cena defending against Mark Henry, and even though Henrys fake retirement was so well done and gave the match a little juice, it ended up being forgettable. After the excellent double-turn between Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio at Payback, the writers decided not to capitalize on Zigglers momentum by having him win back the World Title, and instead put him into a lesser feud with AJ and Big E by having AJ (accidentally) screw him at the event. As for the Money in the Bank matches themselves, it was a bold choice having Sandow win the briefcase, but it ultimately became nothing as Sandow unsuccessfully cashed the case in. And of all the choices for winner of the WWE Championship briefcase, creative went with the second-worst choice in Orton, bypassing more interesting names like the returning Rob Van Dam, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Christian. At least it wasnt Sheamus; creative would wait two more years to make that mistake.
