13. Unforgiven 2004

The Randy Orton face turn was dead in the water before it even began. First off, Orton was forced to be a babyface because he was kicked out of Evolution by Triple H. Contrast this to when Batista would leave Evolution early in 2005, where it was his decision to leave, not Triple H€™s. Secondly, Orton was getting over with the fans because they enjoyed his brash attitude. When Orton turned babyface, he began to pander to the crowd, which the crowd didn€™t want. So by the time Unforgiven 2004 came about, Randy Orton only had a one-month reign as World Champion, and a one-month stint as a babyface, and the fans were already sick of it. Triple H won the World Title back at the show, and Orton would turn back heel before Wrestlemania 21, and wouldn€™t win another championship until 2007. Elsewhere on the show, the WWE was in the middle of the €œKane probably raped Lita but we€™re just implying that€ storyline, where Lita was Kane€™s wife (and was carrying his child), but she hated him. This was before Gene Snitsky would punt a baby, turning Kane babyface. He faced Shawn Michaels in a no holds barred match, but the Kane/Lita storyline overshadowed anything good. One bright spot on the show though was the Chris Jericho/Christian ladder match, which isn€™t a surprise.
