The turn of the century brought with it one of the two most memorable returns of The Undertaker's career, as the superstar formerly known as 'The Deadman' tore into that year's Judgment Day PPV on a motorcycle clad in a bandana and shades. This was the American Badass.

The drastic character change certainly fit with the company's shift towards realism at the time and it allowed 'Taker himself a lot more creative freedom as he essentially got to be himself all of the time. He thrived on that freedom as he nailed the less-cryptic promos and, for the most part, the overall change worked surprisingly well, as fans responded positively to their not-so-undead biker, rocking out to his Kid Rock theme song and championing his new finisher (the Last Ride).

That being said, he wasn't in the best shape at the time (possibly due to the groin injury he had suffered in late '99), so there were times when he was sluggish and off-balance in the ring - something that obviously came at the detriment of the quality of his matches.
