2013 turned out to be an unexpectedly emotional year for 'The Phenom' - and, for that matter, the entire WWE Universe - as he had to bid farewell to his longtime friend Paul Bearer. However, in the ultimate tribute, Bearer's real-life passing played a major role in 'Taker's WrestleMania feud with CM Punk.

From returning to pay tribute to his legendary manager to the Attitude Era-like tone that the uncomfortable program took on, everything about the pair's feud felt appropriately cutting edge and ultimately heightened the tension and the anticipation for their showdown on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

That showdown, however, exceeded expectations, as Punk and 'Taker put on an emotion-heavy classic that thrived on the action and the stakes that played into the storytelling - all of which made 'The Phenom's victory (the last of The Streak) all the more satisfying. And as he bowed to the urn one more time, you just knew that he had done Paul Bearer proud.
