The year that gifted 'Taker with the greatest match of his career, 2009 will always be best-remembered for the absolute classic he put on with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25. A match that is rightfully considered one of the (if not the) greatest matches of all time, it was the culmination of 'Taker's years of evolving in a bid to reclaim his former glory - something he was already doing in the three years prior to this.

However, there was so much more to 2009 than just that unforgettable bout, as 'The Demon of Death Valley' returned from a long summer hiatus to immediately insert himself in the World Championship program.
