Ranking All 30 Of The Undertaker's WWE Years From Worst To Best
6. 1996
1996 didn't start off particularly well for Undertaker due to his lifeless brawl with Bret Hart, but things would only get better from there as it would go on to become the most pivotal year of his career at the time.
His undead gimmick loosened its grip on his in-ring style and, as a result, fans were finally beginning to see the full extent of what the man behind The Undertaker was capable of as he put on one of his best showings thus far in his match against Diesel at WrestleMania 12. And the following night, Mankind would change the complexion of his entire career.
The pair's feud was easily the most entertaining program that 'Taker had ever been involved in, as the creativity of the feud allowed for the inception of both the Boiler Room Brawl and the Buried Alive matches, while Paul Bearer's shocking betrayal went a long way in humanising his character that little bit more.
All of this was essential in kicking off the next - and perhaps most important - stage of his career, as it birthed the Lord of Darkness.
