Entrusted with the title only when the rest of roster weren't up to it (or had other things going on), The Undertaker was never the gimmick that particularly suited WWE Championship reigns.

His 1997 babyface redemption run was marginally more satisfying than his heel efforts with it in 1991, 1999 and 2002, but at no point did the once-unbreakable aura of 'The Deadman' feel more under fire than when he was defending (and especially losing) his prized possession.
