'The Beast' was a sensation in 2002 when he steamrolled over The Rock for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, but his instantly accepted place amongst the top stars was shored up by several outstanding contests during reigns split across the remainder of his first stint with the organisation.

His 2014 WWE Championship run kicked off in almost literally unbelievable fashion. His squash victory over John Cena (again at SummerSlam) was jaw-dropping, and his absences then felt far less notable than his recent Universal Title holiday reign.
