11. No Mercy

The Good: Cesaro cemented his long-held status as 'hardest man in the world' by not only working through an ungodly injury but also throwing himself into yet another incredible pay-per-view doubles dance with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Smashing his face against the post on a routine catapult spot, Cesaro's teeth were forced up into his gums and blood gushed from the sudden gap in the middle of his mouth. The false finishes in the contest were as effective as the false dentures he may one day require. A Five-way match for Alexa Bliss' Women's Title overachieved at just the right time - No Mercy began the build to Asuka's main roster arrival and 'The Empress Of Tomorrow' needed credible opposition to help her make a mark.

The Bad: John Cena's match with Roman Reigns forced through more artificial 'moments' than a modern day WrestleMania. A cliched cover version of Cena's epic wars with CM Punk, AJ Styles and others, the finisher-fest lacked craft and didn't remotely elevate Roman Reigns' already-sky high stock half as much as the post-match arm-raising implied.

The Ugly: Brock Lesnar's Universal Title defence against Braun Strowman was categorically the biggest disappointment of the year. The contest was bereft of the chaos and carnage now inexorably linked to the 'Monster Among Men's major matches, whilst 'The Beast's creative contempt towards the megastar-in-waiting mirrored his reckless WrestleMania 31 mistreatment of Dean Ambrose.
