Ranking Every AEW Championship Reign Of 2023

8. FTR - AEW World Tag Team Championship

In 2023, FTR winning AEW's tag gold was inevitable. However, it came far too late. Harwood and Wheeler capturing the IWGP, AAA and ROH tag titles made for an impressive visual (and quite hilarious, too - seriously, they looked ridiculously uncomfortable carrying so much hardware). Adding the AEW titles on top of that, to make up for their previously lacklustre 63-day reign was all anybody wanted.

Having dropped all their other belts beforehand certainly felt like a missed opportunity for a one-of-a-kind moment. Moreover, if you weren't watching Collision, you would've missed most of this reign, as is the nature of having more TV time to fill this year.

The build-up and desire to see FTR win the belts was a big part of the AEW conversation earlier this year and, whilst you could never doubt their ringwork, it's tough to say it delivered how it should've.
