Shida getting the belt back from Saraya on Title Tuesday felt like a moment of potential course-correction after the belt was used to get a pop at All In. Finally, the longest reigning AEW Women's champion might get a proper follow-up run with the belt. Unfortunately, that's not really what happened.
Shida defended the title three times across an eight-day period and then proceeded to lose the belt to Toni Storm, who had captured the fans with her "timeless" meltdown gimmick. On the one hand, it allowed Shida to set a record as the first woman to hold the gold three times. On the other, it's took yet more shine off the championship she once held dominion over for more than a year.
