Again, this wasn’t necessarily a poor showing from Lesnar by any stretch of the imagination—it’s just up against some very stiff competition from his other SummerSlam outings.

And while the previous match with Triple H had been a never-before-seen feud, this one very much wasn’t. Lesnar’s history with the Undertaker dated back to their epic battles from 2002 and 2003, and had of course since progressed to include the one and only WrestleMania defeat ever inflicted upon the Deadman.

Now, over 16 months later, ‘Taker was out for revenge.

While the story behind this one could pretty much have sold itself, the two old foes still marketed their SummerSlam meeting in the best way possible with an awesome arena-wide brawl on Monday Night Raw. And that intensity translated to the match itself, which was quite the improvement on their WrestleMania XXX encounter—mainly because Undertaker remained conscious in this one.

We saw something of rare sight as Lesnar tossed Undertaker around like few others could, while the clash was peppered with cool spots such as their simultaneous sit-ups and Lesnar giving ‘Taker the middle finger during his Hell’s Gate submission.

Ultimately, though, a slightly screwy finish would see the Undertaker claim his WrestleMania win back, setting up a score-settler for Hell in a Cell. But of the three Lesnar vs. ‘Taker matches in their most recent programme, their SummerSlam 2015 effort was arguably the best of the lot.
