Ranking Every Current WWE Belt Design From Worst To Best
14. Universal Championship
In 2016, WWE transitioned their top championships for both their men and women into the same template that the WWE Championship adopted in 2014. While this does limit the creativity that goes into the belts, it helps push the idea that the company's world championships are all seen as of equal stature. While this has resulted in some excellent creations, it has also created one absolute shocker.
The Universal Championship is one that has been universally derided since it was first unveiled a SummerSlam 2016, when the crowd ruined an excellent Finn Bálor vs. Seth Rollins match by chanting about the red atrocity sat at ringside. Three years later the design of the belt was changed to blue in order to accomodate the title's transition to the relaunched SmackDown, to middling results.
While the new design is certainly an improvement over the horrific original, it is still by far the worst looking out of WWE's major titles, and pales in comparison next to the company's other offerings.
