Ranking Every CWC Final Round Match - From Worst To Best
A wrestling masterclass.
After ten grueling, thrilling weeks, the WWE Cruiserweight Classic is finally over. The first ever WWE Cruiserweight Champion has been crowned, and it's safe to say that Monday nights are about to get a ton more exciting as the Cruiserweights head over to Raw.
The CWC has been without question the best weekly wrestling show of the last two-plus months, with silly angles being pushed to the wayside in favour of achingly human storytelling and some of the most visceral in-ring performances from all of 2016.
It's been an absolute pleasure to watch the WWE take these athletes seriously, and hopefully they'll get their fair due when they join the mainstream WWE brand, even though they'll almost certainly shame 95% of the main roster in the process.
Covering the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Final itself, here is every CWC Final Round match ranked from worst to best...
8. Quarter Final: Zack Sabre Jr. Vs. Noam Dar
Result: Sabre makes Dar tap with a savage Double Arm Bar (15:46).
Rating: Most had Sabre's victory pegged from the outset, but that did little to diminish what was for the most part a thoroughly entertaining outing, with Sabre's ring mastery once again winning out, though Dar kept up with him extremely well and went out with his head held high.
It probably ran a little too long all things considered and Sabre's selling still leaves a hell of a lot to be desired, but the absolutely brutal submission finish (where Dar had to verbally submit as both arms were locked in) was like nothing else we've seen in a WWE ring before. 7/10
