Ranking Every Hell In A Cell Match In WWE History - From Worst To Best

3. The Undertaker Vs. Mankind

Thanks to a combination of JR’s brilliant commentary, Mankind’s unrivalled gutsiness and an unforeseen twist that could have proved disastrous, the Undertaker vs. Mankind from King of the Ring 1998 is perhaps the most infamous Hell in a Cell match in history.

Punctuated by two insane spots, the first of which has the one that’s become synonymous with this stipulation, as the Undertaker literally launched Mankind from atop the Cell and through the announce table below.

That one was planned; the next was not.

After taking a routine back body drop on the Cell roof, Mankind would inadvertently fall through the collapsed cell panel and take the most uncompromising of bumps on the mat below. Someone then thought it was a good idea to proceed with the match, with Mankind taking a further thumbtack bump before ‘Taker finally put him out of his misery.

In terms of sheer shock value, they don’t get any more better than this one, but there are still a couple of Cell matches that offered more than just shock value alone.
