Prior to 2008's One Night Stand pay-per-view, there had never been an "I Quit" match featuring only women and there hasn't been one since. And no Divas rivalry warranted the stipulation more than Beth Phoenix vs. Melina.

During Phoenix's reign as Women's champion, she established an alliance with Melina, but that friendship soon turned to jealousy and frustration following her loss of the title to Mickie James. When both ladies failed to capture the gold, their sights shifted to each other, leading to the first ever women's "I Quit" match at One Night Stand.

It was the first feud in the Divas division in years that actually meant something, and it was cool to see them give such a stipulation to work with. To boot, Phoenix and Melina were excellent athletes and truly maximized the matchup by pushing the limit and impressing audience members with what they were capable of.

Melina's amazing flexability allowed them to pull off things that no one else could, including The Glamazon stretching her in a modified version of the Glam Slam until she submit, which she eventually did. It was fabulous in all ways, and it's a shame that the women haven't been given the chance to compete in an "I Quit" match since then.
