It should be said that Rich Swann was on track to have a monumental 2020 had it not been for the ankle injury he suffered on 10 January. It couldn't have come at a worse time for Swann, considering the momentum he was carrying over from 2019.

Upon returning at Slammiversary, Rich quickly embarked on a vicious rivalry with Eric Young over the World Championship, a rivalry that truly defined Impact Wrestling in 2020. Swann's journey from Slammiversary to Bound For Glory was sublime. The wait was worth it when he finally won the title from Young. Future showings against Sami Callihan, Chris Bey, and Ken Shamrock all came together to mark a successful year in-ring wise for the former X Division Champion.

That he now enters 2021 with a pay-per-view main event against the AEW World Champion indicates that Swann will enter the top ten of this list for the 2021 article.
