5. Vs. Orange Cassidy Vs. PAC (AEW Double Or Nothing 2021)

In a similar vein to Kenny Omega's clash with Rey Fenix, his Double or Nothing three-way against Orange Cassidy and PAC was sublime if you're viewing it solely as a wrestling match, but the story wasn't quite there to justify its spot on such an important event.

OC had been knocked loopy in his World Title Eliminator match with PAC, leaving AEW in a predicament that, all things considered, they deserve praise for, for finding a solution under such intense time constraints.

Furthermore, and perhaps more crucially to the story's lack of development opportunity, PAC constantly felt like he was only there because AEW wanted a three-way for the pay-per-view.

But alas, the match itself was banging.

Cassidy was rarely his traditional nonchalant self here, wrestling more of a Revolution 2020 style instead. It was a World Title match; he had to try. His intense Orange Punch and the like came across gorgeously when, later on, he flopped face-first to the mat, hands in the pockets. It was the best of both of Cassidy's worlds in a single match. Omega and PAC, as was expected, were relied upon for the thrills and spills, with PAC's top-rope Falcon Arrow being particularly exuberant.

The finish can be nitpicked, too, as it was one of those lazy covers reversed into a rollup, something that AEW doesn't into too often, but given the circumstances, it'll suffice.
