Ranking Every Major Cinematic Wrestling Match Of 2020 From Worst To Best
AEW and WWE have booked some cinematic weirdness in 2020, but which was the best?
2020 didn't birth the idea of cinematic wrestling matches, but it did turn them into a trend.
Both WWE and AEW went a bit daft with the thought of (over) producing film-like set pieces this year, and there didn't seem to be many rules. Some cinematic bouts were filmed as though they were one long sequence, whereas others had more noticeable jump cuts that inconceivably danced from location to location.
This list, ranking all the major ones, does have one golden rule though.
To qualify, a match needed to have at least one identifiable cut. In other words, it had to be visibly obvious that the wrestlers involved had stopped in between for some water breaks and maybe a quick chat before the cameras fired up again. Sadly, that means the lengthy 'Last Man Standing' match between Edge and Randy Orton is out.
That one was a continuous brawl, and it didn't rely on splicing or production trickery to make it appear uninterrupted. Don't worry, because there were plenty of others to choose from, and they all had something different to offer - for better or worse.
