This loses a lot of points for a lot of reasons. The terrible, drawn-out, unnecessary Authority arc being chief among them.

Seth Rollins and Randy Orton really did almost everything they could with the rubbish they were dealt, but it wasn’t nearly enough to save this disaster from an Attitude Era-esque s**t show of over-booking.

Rollins was fresh off his historic WrestleMania cash in, continuing his rivalry with Orton after the Show of Shows for his first title defence in a steel cage match. But it wasn’t that simple.

Fellow Authority member Kane was installed as the gatekeeper (the open-closey door guy), with the RKO also banned from the match to add an extra hurdle for The Viper.

Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble would also get heavily involved as Authority members.

This is where the fun starts.

While both trying to stop Orton from getting out the door, Rollins accidentally kicked said door into Kane, sending the Big Red Machine into an unstoppable rage, running in to chokeslam J&J Security, Orton and Rollins.

Orton then returned the favour with an RKO, assuming that it was OK to use on a non-participant of the match, only for him to turn around into an RKO from Rollins.

Wasn’t the move banned? Doesn’t matter, Rollins escaped with his title in tact and the audience dumbfounded.
