Title: WWF Championship

Match Time: 10:15

Hulk Hogan was never a renowned technical master of wrestling, nor was the 400-pound King Kong Bundy. This wasn’t a masterclass by any stretch of the imagination, just two big dudes lumbering around and popping the crowd.

The match itself is pretty average, but this is peak Hulkamania, right in the middle of his four-year reign with the WWF Title.

The Hulkster had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hands by doing literally anything.

Much like the WrestleMania III main event one year later alongside Andre The Giant, the historical importance of the match heavily outweighs the quality of it - although, the post-match shenanigans with the brilliant Bobby Heenan are worth the price alone.

WrestleMania was still in its infancy at this stage and failure wasn’t an option for the company, despite the success of the first edition. So much was riding on another Hogan special coming off.

It did.

He made his monster heel opponent look good, overcame the odds, Hulked up and prevailed in front of his adoring fans. Job done.
