Ranking Every PPV World Championship Steel Cage Match From Worst To Best
10. Bret Hart Vs. Diesel - In Your House 6
Title: WWF Championship
Match Time: 19:13
Diesel’s best work during his original WWF run was usually done alongside Bret Hart, often working the big man vs. little man style that he excelled at. Not to mention The Hitman could carry a wet blanket to a great match if he had to.
After losing the title to Hart at Survivor Series the previous year, Big Daddy Cool had to settle with a PPV loss to Owen Hart and a failed Royal Rumble appearance before he got his rematch.
The crowd were behind the match, despite the slow methodical pace of both men throughout the opening half.
The action would heat up as the drama built and the doubt over who would escape began to grow.
Just when it looked like Diesel was going to crawl his way through the door, The Undertaker broke through the ring, dragging the Detroit native into the depths of hell… or just under the canvas, whichever suits your style.
The crowd was losing their minds at this point, the drama of the previous five minutes filled with teased finishes had them molten hot for whatever outcome hit their eyeballs.
Hart scurried up and over the cage to retain his belt, going on to WrestleMania XII to face Shawn Michaels.
A great match to watch back today, for the crowd manipulation and reactions alone. Dave Meltzer didn’t exactly agree though, only giving the match a one-and-a-half star rating.
