Randy Orton Triple H No mercy

As previously established, the Triple H vs. Randy Orton WrestleMania 25 main event left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans because, well, it wasn't The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels. The feud continued coming out the Show of Shows with Orton vowing to take the title from The Game by any means necessary.

He'd get another opportunity at the WWE Championship at Backlash 2009 in a six-man tag team match pitting Triple H, Batista and Shane McMahon against The Legacy, but first, he and HHH clashed in a WrestleMania rematch on Raw in England. The No Disqualification stipulation played a significant factor in making this entertaining and maintaining a sense of chaos where it was impossible to tell what would happen next as a result of all the moving parts.

With the oddball trio of Triple H, Batista and Shane having a tough time staying on the same page going into Backlash, Orton took advantage of their bickering and planted HHH with an RKO to clinch the win he should have gotten at WrestleMania.
